Lou Marak (1930 - )

Lou Marak was born in 1930 in Meeker, Oklahoma, Lou Marak attend the Univ. of Oklahoma.  After a stint in the army he returned to the Kansas City Art Institute, where he graduated with a diploma in Illustration in 1957.  Marak worked at Hallmark Cards after graduation, then freelanced and worked for Hallmark for the next 35 years.  His commercial work can be found in many publications and his extensive exhibitions have included the Mulvane Museum, Washburn University, Kansas City Artists Coalition, the Jayne Gallery, Hallar Gallery and The Late Show Gallery.  Collections include Hallmark, Mushnic Art Museum, The Kemper Contemporary Art Museum, United Missouri Bank, Mulvane Art Museum, and Rockhurst University.
