Louis Touchagues

Louis Touchagues (1893 - 1974) was active/lived in France.  Louis Touchagues is known for Painting, magazine and book illustration, drawing, porcelain and murals.

Louis Touchagues arrived in Paris in 1923 where he became a magazine designer and illustrator including for L'Art Vivant, Paris-Journal, The Literary News, satirical Crapouillot, and Le Charivari.

He was also a parliamentary draftsman and was delegated by the Beaux-Arts as a draftsman at the first Peace Conference following World War II. His subjects including documenting the arrival of General de Gaulle in Paris. He illustrated many books of Sidonie-Gabrielle Colette , Sacha Guitry, Marcel Achard, Marcel Ayme, Georges Duhamel, Joseph Delteil ( Joan of Arc ), and as a designer for women, created three albums: Women and Models, La Parisienne, and Waves in St. Tropez. As a painter, he exhibited alongside Marc Chagall, Raoul Dufy, Ossip Zadkine, and Marie Laurencin.
