Alfons Konstantinovic Zaba was born in 1878 was a famous Russian painter and graphic artist.  Zaba studied at first presumably at the Academy of Arts in St. Petersburg under P.O. Kovalevski and F.A. Rubo. 

Since the beginning of the 20th century Zaba's works have been shown in many exhibitions and the artist was co-founder of a group of painters. 
Zaba's favored subjects are landscapes, portraits, genre and animal paintings.  Stylistically Zaba was guided by reality in his art, later he preferred to paint under the open sky, influenced by the trend of painting en plein air.

Alfons Konstantinovic Zaba passed away in 1942.
