Fabian Marcaccio

Fabian Marcaccio (Born 1963) is active/lives in New York / Argentina.  Fabian Marcaccio is known for Abstract psycho-imagery.

Fabian Marcaccio was born in Rosario, Argentina in 1963; his mother was a native Argentine and his father came from Italy. He arrived in New York City in 1986 at the age of twenty-two on a scholarship awarded by the Esso Company of Argentina to study at the Printmaking Workshop. When his scholarship money ran out he decided to stay in New York.

Known as "a radical deconstructor", he extends painting space literally and with illusion. His painting of the early 1990s often had isolated gesture images against grid backgrounds. Then he evolved a style of dramatic changes, using dozens of nylon cords to attach his painting to the wall. The hammer and sickle image frequently appears.

Written and submitted by Jean Ershler Schatz, artist and researcher from Laguna Woods, California.
