Kajetan Sosnowski

Kajetan Sosnowski (1913 - 1987) was active/lived in Poland.  Kajetan Sosnowski is known for Abstract art, monochrome series, sewn paintings.

Born in Warsaw in 1913, Kajetan Sosnowski's artistic career began with an apprenticeship under Tadeusz Pruszkowski and Wojciech Jastrzebiowski at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. Immediately after the Second World War, he established art education training centers at his residence Siedlce and in Lodz. From 1947-1951 Sosnowski was artistic director of the weekly magazine Kuznica and pulled at the editorial office relocation in 1949 to Warsaw, where he sought the intensive exchange with the artists and intellectuals. Along with the painters Marian Bogusz and Zbigniew Dlubak he founded in 1955 the "Grupa 55", during which he exhibited regularly. While Sosnowski's early work was influenced by Post-Impressionism, the artist developed the mid-1950s a decorative-metaphorical style and worked abstract from the end of the decade.
