Felix Albrecht Harta

Felix Albrecht Harta (1884 - 1967) was active/lived in Germany, Hungary, Austria.  Felix Harta is known for Landscape, still life, portrait and genre painting.

Felix Harta was born in Budapest and grew up in Vienna where he studied architecture at the Vienna University of Technology.  In 1905 he moved to Munich and switched to painting.  His teacher at the academy was Hugo von Habermann.  The following years consisted of intensive artistic studies.

In his early years, Felix Albrecht Harta was friends with the artists Oskar Kokoschka, Egon Schiele and Albert Paris Gütersloh and was close to their expressionist art.  He was also friends with Gustav Klimt whom he recommended the rental of his former atelier at Feldmühlgasse, where the "Klimt-Villa" is located today.

Hartas later works however, are always representational and rather have a tendency towards the post-impressionism.  His motives where mainly landscapes and still lifes, as well as portraits and genre scenes.
