Ismael Kateregga (Born 1980) is active/lives in Uganda.  Ismael Kateregga is known for Paintings.

Ismael Kateregga is a graduate of Makerere University where he studied industrial Design and Fine Art.  Forsaking applied design he started his career as a painter on leaving university, establishing himself as one of Uganda's most consistently successful visual artists whose work has been exhibited in Africa and Europe and sold successfully at international auctions.

Kateregga's canvases capture the vibrancy and vividness of Ugandan life and landscapes obliquely referencing cultural and social change within his country.  His work is rooted in minutiae of daily life in Kampala and on the shores of lake Victoria.

Kateregga has had numerous solo Exhibitions in Kampala, and Nairobi, and one in London at the Royal Commonwealth Club in 2009.  His work has been regularly featured at the East African Art Biennale, Dar es Salaam.
