Alexander Sitnikov was born in the Soviet Union in 1945.  Between 1966 and 1972, he studied at the Surikov Art Academy in Moscow, and in 1875 he was admitted as a member of the USSR Union of Artists.  From the late 1970s onward, Sitnikov regularly exhibits at home and abroad.

His works are in the collections of the Pushkin Museum, the Tretyakov Gallery in Moscow, the Ludwig Museum in Aachen, and the Smithsonian Institute in Washington.  Alexander Sitnikov lives and works in Moscow. (cko)
