The sculptor, Anne Arnold, is best known for the three-dimensional representations of animals.  She created one of her signature works, Monte I, in 1988 by carving and joining pine to resemble her Russian wolfhound.

Arnold was born in Melrose, Massachusetts in 1925.  She obtained her Bachelor's degree from the University of New Hampshire, Durham in 1946.  In 1949 she did graduate work in Mexico at the University of Guadalajara.  The following four years were spent in New York City attending the Art Students League.  She earned Master's degree from Ohio State University, Columbus in 1974.

Anne Arnold joined the Brooklyn College, City University of New York art faculty in 1971.  She was also an instructor or visiting critic at intuitions such as Columbia University; New York State University, Geneseo; Philadelphia College of Art, Pennsylvania; University of Pennsylvania; and Wagner College in Staten Island, New York   ...  [Displaying 1000 of 2112 characters.]  Artist bio
