Antonio Frilli was a Florentine sculptor working in marble and alabaster. He founded the Frilli Gallery in 1860, as a studio and art atelier in Florence and specialized in Belle Epoque subjects.  An astute businessman, Frilli ensured that his gallery participated in many World Fairs, garnering international attention and taking home awards and prizes throughout the year.  In 1904, he posthumously won the Grand Prix at the Louisiana Purchase Exposition in St. Louis for his marble sculpture of "Woman Lying on a Hammock," which showcased his exceptional talent and skill.   ...  [Displaying 607 of 1021 characters.]  Artist bio
