"I am a grandnephew of Charles Buckler, known in the family as Uncle Charlie, on my Father's side of the family, and I am familiar with the following few facts.

Charles was born in 1869 at Bridgetown, Nova Scotia and died in 1953 in Melrose Massachusetts. He was married to the former Emily Louisa Martin, my paternal grandfather's sister. Aunt 'Emm' was born on Prince Edward Island, Canada on 15 September, 1870 and died on 15 December 1959 in Melrose, Mass. They were married on Prince Edward Island and had one daughter, Mildred, and a son, Harold, of Worcester, Massachusetts.

I know only that Uncle Charlie was guided by the work of the artist he most admired, Claude Monet. My family has been blessed as to be the proud owner of eleven of Uncle Charlie's' works of New England landscapes. These pieces have always been my father's pride and deep connection to his heritage.
