Ms. Elena K. Luksch-Makowsky was the daughter of the artist, Vladimir Makovsky. She studied in St Petersburg and in the late 1870s moved to Munich where she studied with Vasily Kandinsky, Alexey Jawlensky and Mstislav Dobuzhinsky, at Anton Azbe's studio.
