Gerardo Pita was a Spanish artist born in Madrid. He developed an interest in painting and drawing from a young age and entered his first painting competition at the age of thirteen. He later enrolled in a degree in architecture but abandoned it in 1972 to focus on painting. Pita's work is characterized by a hyperrealist aesthetic with a personal lyricism. He held exhibitions in important art centers around the world and his work can be found in various art collections such as the Museum of Modern Art in New York and the Art Institute of Chicago.
