Working out of a studio on a lake in the Osage Hills of Oklahoma, Jan McGuire became a full time wildlife painter. Her subjects range from tigers to chipmunks. She is dedicated to ecology and conservation, expressed in her series of paintings, "Total Ecosystems." She volunteers at the Avain Research Center in nearby Bartlesville, which focuses on reintroducing endangered bird species.
