Jean Starck (Born 1948) is active/lives in France.  Jean Starck is known for Post-modern art, primitive urban art, cut up technique, use of recycled materials.

A major figure in the French underground, he co-founded the "Art Cloche" movement in 1979, which was born from a revolt by homeless people who took over a disused space in Paris in the 14th arrondissement where bombs were stored during the last war. Immediately, a first wave of artists without studios joined the initial occupants. Studios were created as other artists from abroad came to settle in looking for a place to paint. This first movement of post-modern art occupation by squatting would give rise for almost a decade to a new heterogeneous, poetic, protesting, insolent art with which Jean Starck would be fully associated. This would create the first works of primitive urban art. Jean Starck uses a technique called cut-up, which consists of taking fragments from the works of other squatters and assembling them like a patchwork.
