John W. Rhoden (1918 - 2001) was active/lived in Alabama. John Rhoden is known for Mod sculptor-carved figure.
African-American sculptor John Rhoden was known for his numerous bronze sculptures created for the exteriors of numerous buildings in New York City
including Bellevue and Harlem hospitals.
Other works by Rhoden are the "Zodiacal Structure" and "Curved Wall" at the Sheraton Hotel and the Afro-American Museum, both in Philadelphia. His "Monumental Abstraction" is on view on one wall of Metropolitan Hospital on 97th Street and 2nd Avenue.
He died January 4, 2001 in New York City.
