Katharine Nash Rhoades (1885 - 1965) was active/lived in New York, District Of Columbia. Katharine Rhoades is known for Fauve portrait and landscape painting.
An early American Modernist* painter and part of the Stieglitz Group in New York City, she has had her first name appear as both Katherine and Catherine, and her last name appears variously as Rhoades and Rhoads.
Her birth, death, and residence have been confused with those of another artist, Katherine Rhoads, who was born in 1885 and died in 1938.
She was a student of Isabelle Dwight Sprague-Smith, and also studied in Paris between 1908 and 1910.
Katherine Nash Rhoades painted Fauvist*-style portraits and landscapes, many of which she later destroyed. A friend of Alfred Stieglitz, Edward Steichen, Frances Picabia, and other modernists, she had her work in Stieglitz' publications
