A self-taught artist, Michel Aubert was born in 1990. He frequented Gen Paul from whom he received encouragement. Michel painted alone in 1950, then began a series of personal exhibitions in Paris, becoming a permanent artist for the Galerie Art Vivant. Aubert sees his art as a succession of "grotesque and torn visions animated by visceral and mental tensions", "landscapes and wildly masonry still lifes", 

Expressionist in his own right, Michel Aubert defines his work as follows: "I do not than to chronicle a society that bears its own death within itself. I show the extent of our cruelty, of our taste for misfortune”.
