P. Marais is a contemporary Austrian painter of architectures and landscapes, born in Vienna where he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts. He continued is studies on travels to Holland, Germany, and France where his work was also exhibited with success. 

The close relationship of his paintings to the French impressionists is clearly distinguishable, although there are basic differences regrading the aspects of composition. Besides being a free-lance artist, Marais is also a professor for the arts at a Viennese college.
