Smythe; has illustrated South Carolina Folk Tales,”and W.H. Moorehead’s Ohio archaeology:special work in illustrating his own rhymes and stories for St. Nicholas;

has caricatured for Life, Judge and other periodicals;

author of Master Skylark’ (Century Co.), Barnaby Lee (Century Co.), and numerous miscellanies in St. Nicholas, Independent, Atlantic, Chap-Book, Century, Criterion and other magazines.
