Margaret Elizabeth (Greenough) Sandzen (1909 - 1994) was active/lived in Kansas, New York.  Margaret Sandzen is known for Portrait and landscape painting, teaching, museum professional.

The daughter as well as student of Birger Sandzen, Margaret Sandzen was born in Sweden and immigrated with her family to Lindsborg, Kansas, where her father was a long-time art professor at Lindsborg College.  She married Charles Pelham Greenough, III. 

Because of back problems, she quit painting in 1961.  Before that she had been an art Instructor at Bethany College from 1934-37 and 1942-46.  She was also a writer on art subjects for magazines and lectured on Swedish arts and crafts as well as "The Life and Art of Birger Sandzen" and "The Life and Art of Edvard Munch:. 

In addition to studying with her father at Bethany College where she earned an A.B. Degree, she received a Master's Degree in Art from Columbia University and studied at the Art Students League with George Bridgman amd Frank DuMond.  Then she went to Paris and became a student of Edouard Lèon.
