Michalis Makroulakis

Michalis Makroulakis (Born 1940) is active/lives in Greece.  Michalis Makroulakis is known for Painting.

Born at Hermoupolis on the Island of Syros, Michalis Makroulakis settled in Athens in 1957 where he studied at the Athenian Technological Institute from 1958 - 1964 stage scenery and costume design with Spiros Vassiliou, Tassos, Costas Plakotaris, Antonis Polykandriotis a.o., painting with Yannis Tsarouchis and design with Thanassis Apartis.  From 1963 to 1966 he worked as stage scenery designer in several theatres in Athens.  In 1971 he settled in Teheran (Iran), where he stayed until 1978.  He had his first one-man exhibition in Athens in 1969.  Other solo and group shows followed in Greece and abroad.  His work belongs to the area of hyperrealism.  He lives and works in Athens.
