Charles Erskine Scott Wood (1852 - 1944) was active/lived in Oregon, California. Charles Wood is known for Landscape and coastal view painting.
Born in Erie, PA on Feb. 20, 1852. Following graduation from West Point in 1874, Wood fought in several Indian campaigns (one was against Chief Joseph of the Nez Percé) and explored the Yukon and Alaska.

Colonel Wood left his wife and, with the poet Sara Field, settled in Saratoga, CA in 1929 and remained there until his death on Jan. 22, 1944.
