English, Mabel Bacon Plimpton; oils and watercolors; born in Hartford, Conn., Feb. 18th, 1861; daughter of Andrew s. and Lucinda F. Plimpton. Studied under Wm. M. Chase, D.W. Tryon, and C.C. Curran; and at Shinnecock Art School and Hartford Art School; married to Joel L. English, 1878. Exhibited at the Nat. Acad. of Design (N.Y.); N.Y. Water Color Club; N.Y. Water Color Soc.; Penna. Acad. of Fine Arts (Phila.). Member of Hartford (Conn.) Art Soc.; Hartford Art Club; and Hartford Municipal Art Soc. Address, 12 Fern St., Hartford, Conn. Summers, “Bramble Brae,” Weekapaug, R.I.
