Abstract artist, Moira Dryer constructed the type of artwork for which she recognized with sheets of plywood and acrylic paint.  The images she created relied heavily on form and rich color combinations as exemplified in paintings such as Close Up of 1989.

Dryer was born in Toronto, Canada in 1957.  She first attended Concordia University in Montreal, Canada which was formerly known as Sir George Williams University.  She later received instruction from Elizabeth Murray, an abstract painter, printmaker and sculptor, at the School of Visual Arts in New York City.  Within two years of her graduation from the School of Visual Arts in 1981, Dryer had been married and became a widow.
