Pattie Richardson East

Pattie Richardson East (1894 - 1994) was active/lived in Texas, Oklahoma.  Pattie East is known for Landscape and mural painting, etching, teaching.

Pattie Richardson East is known for her work as a muralist, graphic artists, fine art painter and teacher. She lived and worked in her career in Fort Worth, Texas.

She was born in Hardesty, Oklahoma and lived for over eighty years in Fort Worth, Texas. East graduated from Texas Christian University, Fort Worth, Texas. In addition, she studied with Jose Arpa, Sven Birger Sandzen, Harry Anthony De Young, and Joseph Amadeus Fleck.


East attended the Art Institute of Chicago and the Broadmoor Academy, Colorado Springs, Colorado. She also attended the Texas Artists Camp at Christoval in 1926 and studied there with Xavier Gonzalez and Sally Haley Russo.
In addition to her painting, East was owner of the Pattie R. East Art Studio where she gave art lessons. During her career she painted in the Big Bend area of Texas and traveled to New Mexico where she painted.

East died in Benbrook, Texas following a long illness in 1994.
