William Wegman

William Wegman (Born 1943) is active/lives in New York, Massachusetts.  William Wegman is known for Surreal dog genre painting, sculpture.

A painter and photographer, William Wegman is among the earliest video artists, and is known for his humorous videos of his Wiemeraner dog.

He was born in Holyoke, Massachusetts on December 2, 1943 and studied in Boston at the Massachusetts College of Art and the University of Illinois at Urbana, where he earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree. He taught at the University of Wisconsin from 1968 to 1970 and then taught at the University of Long Beach in California, where he became active with a group of video artists.
