Klatt received his training at the teaching institute of the Kunstgewerbemuseum Berlin and at the Art School Berlin under Phillip Franck and Willi Maillard.

In 1946 Klatt was a founding member of the "Berliner Neue Gruppe" and soon after taught watercolor painting at the University of Fine Arts in Berlin.

Albert Klatt passed away in 1970.
