Alfredo Hlito was a renowned Argentine artist celebrated for his significant contributions to the Concrete Art movement. Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Hlito's early fascination with art led him to study at the National Academy of Fine Arts, where he honed his skills as a painter. During the mid-1940s, Hlito became an integral part of the Concrete Art movement, a groundbreaking artistic movement that emphasized geometric abstraction and the reduction of art to its most essential and fundamental elements. Hlito, along with other Concrete artists, co-authored the "Concrete Invention Manifesto," which articulated the movement's principles and objectives. This manifesto laid the foundation for Concrete Art's prominence in the global art scene. This movement laid the groundwork for Op Art, which emerged in the 1960s.
