Alois Carigiet

Alois Carigiet (1902 - 1985) was active/lived in Switzerland.  Alois Carigiet is known for Painting.

Alois Carigiet was born in 1902 in Trun, in the Swiss canton of Grisons and already in his early years he designed stage sets and costumes for a cabaret.  In 1939 he began working as a freelance artist and illustrated children's books such as the well-known Swiss picture book ‘Schellenursli’.  Furthermore a multitude of wall paintings were created such as ‘Allegro Con Spirito’ from 1949-51.

Carigiet's works were on display at several exhibitions, including 1948 in Solothurn, 1967 in Schaffhausen and 1977 at the Seedamm-Kulturzentrum Pfäffikon.  He was also given various awards, amongst others twice with the Young People’s Book Prize of the Swiss Teacher Association in 1948 and 1966 as well as with the Grisons cultural prize.  Alois Carigiet died in 1985.
