Aron Demetz was born in 1972, in Val Gardena, South Tyrol, Germany. Aron attended the local vocational school for wood sculpture, wood carvers and cask painters until 1993. From 1997 to 1998, he studied sculpture at the Academy of Fine Arts, Nuremberg with Christian Hoepfner. Aron Demetz works almost exclusively in wood. His sculptures, formally reduced human figures, he worked over with (among others) resin or fire, made sensations, emotional states, and injuries sensible and visible. These works have been shown worldwide in group and solo exhibitions. Aron Demetz lives and works in Val Gardena.
