Segrelles strives for strong draftsmanship to highlight play with color, tone, light, and shadow. His subjects embody the concept of naturalism as they are never dramatized, but painted just as they are.

Eustaquio Segrelles was born in 1936 in the town of Albaida, Valencia Spain. When Eustaquio was age six, his father, an artist, passed away, leaving his mother to care for him and his five siblings in the unruly times of the Spanish Civil War.

He began his artistic schooling at the School of Fine Arts of San Carlos in Valencia where he studied from 1950 to 1954. There he developed his techniques of light and shadows, and also began showing his work in galleries.
