Jean-Pierre Corpataux (aka le Boucher Corpaato) was born March 21, 1950 in Fribourg, Switzerland.

After his father's death, he helped his mother manage the family butchershop.  In 1982 he passed his chef exam and in 1984 he began to paint the meat to show how this noble product is handled and prepared by men who love their job.   Indeed, some do not hesitate to call him "Ambassador of the meat."  Agriculture and its products are also a large part in his painting and philosophy.

He signs his work "Le Boucher Corpaato".
