Otto Klar (1908 - 1994) was active/lived in South Africa.  Otto Klar is known for Landscape and figure painting.

Otto Klar was born in Vienna, and he studied there at the Academy of Arts.  He exhibited in Vienna, Munich and Berlin before traveling to South Africa in 1939.  Klar settled in Pretoria, where he painted and taught art.  He was interested in local landscape and figure subjects, and his works were praised for their bold palette, energy and strength; his style has been likened to the hurling of thunderbolts across the canvas.
