Peter Frie is a contemporary artist known for his still life paintings and expansive, light-soaked landscape views. He has been active since the 1980s and has exhibited his works in various galleries. 

Frie's still life paintings reflect a feeling of silence, stillness, and security that has become scarce in a rapidly changing world. He collaborated with poet Tomas Tranströmer on several book editions and illustrated Tranströmer's poems with his still life paintings. 

Frie's latest exhibition of still lifes, "Beyond reach" at Lars Bohman Gallery in 2011, was praised by critics for his technical prowess and the explosive colors he used to conjure up flowers from the gloomy background. Frie's art never turns outwards but tries to lure the viewer into its inner space
