Richard Franklin (1961 - 1996) was active/lived in New York.  Richard Franklin is known for Neo-classical painting.

Richard Franklin began his career as a commercial artist and taught illustration art at the Phoenix Institute of Technology from 1987-1989. But in 1990 he decided to embark to Europe to study the Old Masters directly from the source. Over the course of a year, he spent time painting and studying in museums in Belgium, Holland, France, and Germany. He took inspiration from the atmospheric quality of the Old Masters and the classical tradition and added his own contemporary sensibilities. Tragically, Franklin was killed in a plane crash over Arizona at the age of 35, but his work continues to be highly sought-after by private collectors and galleries.
