Shiyuan Zhang

Shiyuan Zhang (1898 - 1959) was active/lived in China.  Shiyuan Zhang is known for Landscape painting in the style of Wang Hui, calligraphy, connoisseurship, epigraphy, seal carving, and painting restoration.

Zhang Shiyuan was a historically oriented painter born in 1898 in Wujin, Jiangsu Province, China. He worked in Shanghai during the Republic period and into the early years of the People's Republic of China. 

Zhang was a follower of the style of Wang Hui's landscape painting and was also skilled in calligraphy, connoisseurship, epigraphy, seal carving, and painting restoration. 

He was highly respected by his contemporaries, including Zhang Daqian and Zhu Qizhan. Zhang Shiyuan passed away in 1959
