Antonio Maria Marini

Antonio Maria Marini (1668 - 1725) was active/lived in Italy.  Antonio Marini is known for Tumultuous, romantic baroque scenes with figures, ships, stormy skies.

In his landscapes, Antonio Marini demonstrated a strong brush, and a free style,  imbued with a certain romanticism.  One can feel the spirit of  Magnasco, and the influence of painters such as Salvatore Rosa or Tempesta.

Traced back to Antonio Marini's catalog by Dario Succi, the paintings are characterized as mature products of the artist. A painter dedicated to landscapes and sea fortunes, following the examples of Tempesta and Salvator Rosa, he characterized his works with dramatic tones and stained chiaroscuro mixtures. 

However, Marini's critical events are recent and in analogy with the studies on Marco Ricci (Belluno, 1676; Venice, 1730) and Alessandro Magnasco (Genoa, 1667; 1749).
