Imre Bak (Born 1939) is active/lives in Hungary.  Imre Bak is known for Hard-edge painting, neo-constructivist concepts, semiotics, and conceptualism.

Imre Bak was a Hungarian artist born in 1939. His early work was influenced by lyrical abstraction and constructivism. He gradually moved towards a purely geometric segmentation of the canvas, resulting in hard-edge painting. 

Bak's interest in semiotics and conceptualism led him to experiment with the relationship between form, color, and text in shaping meaning. He was influenced by Kazimierz Malewicz's works and attempted to break the dichotomy of abstraction and figuration. 

Bak's breakthrough work Composition (1973) is an abstract set of forms and landscape painting. He repeated this composition in his works on canvas and graphics, where he illustrated selected concepts describing the landscape with geometric figures
