Lien Chien-Hsing

Lien Chien-Hsing (Born 1962) is active/lives in China, Taiwan, Province of China.  Lien Chien Hsing is known for Painting; characters and magical figures in cultural ruins.

Born in Keelung, Lien received his master's degree from Taipei National University of the Arts.  As one of Taiwan's most promising artists now, he has provoked discussion and raised awareness in contemporary notions of environmental issues.  By placing characters and magical figures in cultural ruins, he re-appropriates new meaning of structures he chooses.  He has participated in many solo exhibitions including: Metropolitan Art Space (1999); Solo Exhibition-Mixed Media, Eslite Gallery (2000); "Lonely Earth," Eslite Gallery (2001); Metropolitan Art Space (2002); Eslite Gallery (2004, 2006).
