Welmon Sharlehorne (Born 1952) was active/lived in Louisiana.  Welmon Sharlehorne is known for Naive, folk-art painting.

Born on August 17, 1952 in Louisiana, Welmon Sharlehorne is a self-taught artist who uses pen and markers on paper to create images of imaginary spaces and creatures.  His drawings of imaginary structures, birds and other creatures often incorporate the image of a clock.  Sharlehorne has spent over half of his adult life in prison, where he drew a large number of his works in pen on manila envelopes.

His work was exhibited at the Musee Collection De l'Art Brut in Lausanne, Switzerland, The Noyes Museum, and the American Visionary Art Museum in Baltimore.  He is also showing at the Folk Artfest in Atlanta, August 2009.
