Alexandre (Alexis) Barkof (1870 - 1942)

Born in 1870 in Helsinki, he studied drawing at the Faculty of Applied Arts of Helsinki in 1890 and from 1895 until 1897, while from 1893 until 1897 he also studied at the Faculty of Drawing of the Finnish Artistic Union.  From 1900 he lived in Greece more in Athens and Thessaloniki.  Apart from painting he engaged in sculpture and engraving.  He died in Athens in 1942.
