José Benítez Montilla is a Spanish artist who first exhibited his work in 1987 at the Malagueño Young Art Collective. Since then, he has participated in various group exhibitions and held solo exhibitions in Spain and abroad. 

He has also collaborated with magazines and made scenographies for theater productions. Benítez's artwork style is ambiguous and conceptual, with lyrical forms of the abstract and rigorous compositions that evoke settings. 

He adds another dimension to his work with complex and highly worked textures that function as a destabilizing element in his paintings
