Alba Stella Zaiser, a resident of Coronado or 38 years, passed away on Tuesday, October 24, 2000 at the Remington Club, an assisted living facility, in Rancho Bernardo.  She had only been there for one week.  Alba was 79 years old. 

Alba, the tenth of eleven children. was born in Philadelphia. Pennsylvania in 1921.  She moved to Coronado for the first time in 1959 with her husband, Cdr. Warren Zaiser, and daughter, Cynthia, and was a permanent resident from 1965 to October, 2000. Alba is widely remembered as a local artist.  She had her own business for 22 years supplying Coronado and San Diego gift shops with her sketches of local scenes, which were depicted on black and white prints, notepaper, laminated plaques, playing cards, tiles, mugs, silk screened purses, and tee-shirts.  She also did oil paintings and watercolors.
