Antonio Uria-Monzon

Antonio Uria-Monzon (1929 - 1996) was active/lived in Spain, France.  Antonio Uria Monzon is known for Abstract figure, still life, portrait and genre painting, illustration.

The painter Antonio Uría Monzón was trained at the Círculo de Bellas Artes in Madrid, and at the age of twenty-three he went to Paris, where he completed his studies. Before leaving for the French capital, in that same year, 1952, Uría Monzón won the first prize in the exhibition at the Círculo de Bellas Artes.

Throughout his career he worked on different themes, leaving a wide and diverse work. Likewise, he made illustrations such as those of the poem "The guitar", by Adolfo Larrañaga. In 1992 the last anthological exhibition of him before his death was held in the French town of Ange.

His daughter, Béatrice Uría Monzón, is a prominent French mezzo soprano.
