Bill (William) Broder (Born 1939) was active/lived in California, New York.  Bill Broder is known for Portrait and landscape painting, realism and abstraction.

William (BILL) BRODER

With his father's help, William (called Bill by almost everyone) began painting in oils at age eleven.  His family moved from New York to San Francisco in 1944 when Bill was a young boy, so Bill’s entire artistic life has been played out in the San Francisco area, most recently in the East Bay.

His early interest in art continued to evolve and intensify, and in 1959, Bill realized his goal of a formal art education after being accepted on a scholarship into the San Francisco Art Institute, graduating in 1963.
Having received many awards, and with the encouragement of one of his now more illustrious instructors, Richard Diebenkorn, he began working in a variety of media and subject matter.

Over the years, he has received commissions ranging from portraiture to landscapes. His work is primarily representational but sometimes explores the edges of abstraction by incorporating abstract elements into his representational work.
