He was a lecturer at Brighton University and former Director of the Royal Institute Gallery in Piccadilly London. Former Governor of the Mall Galleries, London. He was appointed Vice President and then President of the Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolors. He was also a former Arts Critic for Art Review.

Method of Working: Bone works in, oils on canvas, pastels and watercolors on acid-free watercolor paper, also in ceramics. He also uses sketchbooks and creates wall murals. he states that he has a traditional way of working."I always work from life and often work on several works at a time."  "My inspiration comes from what I see in front of me.
