Wiktor Brodzki

Wiktor Brodzki (1826 - 1904) is known for Sculpture.

Wiktor Brodzki was a Polish sculptor, who studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in St. Petersburg. In 1855, he settled in Rome and created numerous works commissioned by the court and the tsar's family in which he gained great notoriety.

In 1862, he became a member of the Academy of Art in St. Petersburg, and in 1868, an honorary professor there. In 1884, he became an honorary member of the Poznan Society of Friends of Sciences. Brodzki created sculptures with ancient, mythological, allegorical and religious themes (statue of Jesus blessing - All Saints Church, Warsaw), portraits, busts and tombstones. His works are characterized by great technical virtuosity, salon charm and skill in successfully solving very difficult compositional arrangements (the monumental Escape from Pompeii).
