Exene Reed Meyersahm

Exene Reed Meyersahm (1886 - 1978) was active/lived in Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Michigan.  Exene Meyersahm is known for Watercolor landscape and still-life painting, teaching.

Born in Northville, Michigan, Exene Reed Meyersham was the daughter of Roscoe Edmund and Adelia (Cook) Reed. The family soon moved to Grand Rapids, Michigan, where she graduated from Grand Rapids High School in 1904.  She married Robert F. Meyersahm, a Canadian who managed in a local boot store - E. Higgins Company - in 1905.  They were to live there until about 1915 when they moved to Providence, Rhode Island.  In 1935 they finally settled in Barrington, Rhode Island, just outside of Providence.

Artistically, she studied at the Rhode Island School of Design, the Boston Museum of Art, and with Charles Hawthorne in Provincetown, Massachusetts. She was a member of the East Greenwich Art Club, the South County Art Association, the National Art Club, the Providence Art Club, and the Providence Watercolor Club.
