Conceptual artist Jim Hodges of New York City is a sculptor of creative interactive environments. One of his largest pieces is "Look and See", a stainless steel on-site work May 5 to October 30, 2005 for the plaza of the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Battery Park City in Lower Manhattan. This stainless-steel work weighs nine tons, is S shaped and painted black and includes characteristic references of Hodges to camouflage, broken mirrors and cutouts. Visitors can see their reflections in the steel, which is part of the symbolism of the sculpture's theme of the blending of man-made architecture and landscape.

Jim Hodges was born in Spokane, Washington in 1957. He received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree, in 1980, from Fort Wright College, in Spokane, and a Master of Fine Arts degree, in 1986, from Pratt Institute, Brooklyn, New York.
